The project to deliver heavy industrial equipment from Italy to Kyrgyzstan became one of the most significant cases in Lazarus Forwarding’s practice.
Our team faced a strategic task — to ensure the transportation of oversized machinery over a distance of more than 7,000 kilometers without failures, with constant control and adherence to deadlines critical for the launch of the new plant.
The client demanded maximum transparency at all stages: from loading at the Italian site to unloading at the facility in Central Asia. Any delay would mean downtime in equipment installation and substantial financial losses. Therefore, the main goal was to create a perfectly managed logistics system where everything works as a single mechanism.
Route Geography: Europe — Caucasus — Central Asia
The route passed through Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Such a journey requires not only colossal coordination but also experience in international road transport of oversized cargo, as each country has its own requirements for permits, dimensions, and convoy movement speeds.
The total length of the route exceeded 7,000 km, and more than 100 units of specialized transport were involved, including:
- low-bed trailers and platforms with increased load capacity;
- trailers for super-heavy loads;
- escort vehicles with permits for night and day transits;
- equipment for reinforced fixation and protection of machinery.
Preparation: Logistics Engineering
The first stage of the project was detailed engineering and logistical preparation.
Our specialists performed:
- Measurements and analysis of the characteristics of each cargo element.
- Selection of routes considering bridges, tunnels, and terrain.
- Calculation of permissible axle loads and road surfaces.
- Coordination of the convoy movement schedule with road and customs services of several countries.
Special attention was paid to transport security and insurance coverage. Every stage of transportation was insured, including the risk of damage during loading, unloading, and transit.
Loading and Start in Italy
At the production site in Northern Italy, the Lazarus team ensured:
- technical control and photographic documentation of each equipment unit;
- professional cargo securing according to EN 12195 standard;
- digital report for the client with video and GPS data;
- launch of the Lazarus Secure Route™ system for online monitoring.
- This level of transparency allowed the client to observe every stage of delivery — literally in real-time.
- Transit through Europe and the Caucasus: logistics with no room for error
The movement of convoys proceeded according to a pre-verified schedule.
At the borders between the European Union and Asia, our team provided customs support, preventing any delays during the crossing.
In sections with limited throughput, especially when passing through the Caucasus Mountains, we used crew rotation systems and coordination across several time zones.
Each Lazarus vehicle is equipped with telematics sensors, which allowed tracking not only coordinates but also the technical condition of the road train.
Final Stage: Delivery and Unloading in Kyrgyzstan
On the final section of the route, from the Kazakh border to the industrial facility, special equipment was used for unloading super-heavy equipment elements.
Work was carried out under the supervision of Lazarus engineers and client representatives.
Thanks to preliminary calculations and clear organization, the entire unloading process went without downtime or damage.
Control and Safety: Lazarus Secure Route™
Lazarus Forwarding applies its own control standard — Lazarus Secure Route™, which includes:
- 24/7 satellite and ground convoy tracking;
- daily digital reports for the client;
- reservation of alternative routes in case of force majeure;
- 24-hour logistics monitoring center.
This approach made it possible to completely eliminate unforeseen delays and make the project a model of managed international logistics.
Project Results
The entire batch of equipment was delivered on time, without damage or schedule violations.
The project received high praise from the client and became an important part of Kyrgyzstan’s national industrial program.
The opening of the plant became a state-level event: President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov took part in the ceremony, noting the importance of partnership and international cooperation.
