Comprehensive Multimodal Transport Solutions
Delivery to Landlocked Countries
For Central Asian states (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan), mixed cargo transportation is often the only solution. We combine Sea Freight to transit ports (e.g., in Europe or Georgia) with subsequent transloading onto trucks or Rail Cargo platforms for delivery deep into the continent.
“Door-to-Door” Service
You do not need to find different carriers for each stage and synchronize their schedules. Door-to-door delivery is our standard. We position the container at the sender’s site, organize all transshipment stages, and hand over the goods at your warehouse.
Balance of Time and Budget
Multimodal freight allows for flexible resource management. For instance, an “Air + Road” combination will be cheaper than direct Air Freight, while “Sea + Rail” is faster than pure ocean freight. We select the route based on your time and cost priorities.
Single Document and Liability
The key difference between multimodal and segmented transport is legal clarity. We issue a Through Bill of Lading or a single waybill. One forwarder—Lazarus Logistics—is responsible for the safety of goods during transloading, backed by comprehensive Cargo Insurance.
How Combined Transport Works
The complexity of the route remains “behind the scenes” for the client. The process looks like this:
1. Analysis & Design
We study the geography and cargo characteristics to select optimal transshipment points (hubs).
2. Main Run
The primary stage of the journey, usually performed by sea or rail to reduce costs.
3. Transshipment
A critical stage. Goods are transferred to another vehicle at a transit terminal. We control this process to eliminate losses.
4. Last Mile
Final delivery via intermodal transport (usually by truck) directly to the receiver’s door with customs clearance handled by our Road Freight teams.
Popular Multimodal Solutions
Our geography covers the globe. We build bridges between continents and the regions of Central Asia.
From Europe to Central Asia
A classic example of complex logistics. Cargo from Italy, Spain, or Germany travels to consolidation hubs, where it is transferred to road transport. The truck then proceeds in transit through multiple borders to Tashkent, Almaty, or Bishkek. Such international multimodal transport requires precise work with transit guarantees (T1).
Trans-Caspian Route and China
For delivery from China and Southeast Asia, we use transport logistics via the Middle Corridor. The route runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, and the Caucasus. This is a reliable alternative to traditional paths, effectively connecting Asia with Europe via the Trans-Caspian route.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Who is responsible for the cargo during transloading?
Under a multimodal transport contract, full liability is borne by the general forwarder (Lazarus Logistics), regardless of how many subcontractors are involved in the stages.
Do I need to hire a broker at the transshipment port?
No. Our multimodal logistics includes all port forwarding operations and transit formalities at docking points.
What is intermodal transport?
Intermodal transport implies that the cargo (usually in a container) changes vehicles without handling the contents themselves (without destuffing). This is a specific and the safest case of multimodality, which we actively use.
